2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen is looking to cash in some PRCA money at the prestigious Calgary Stampede and took a big step toward making the Semifinals by winning the round on Saturday afternoon.
After bucking off his first bull, one that “slipped through his hands,” according to bull riding analyst Scott Schiffner, Swearingen answered with 87.5 points on Armed & Dangerous.
“I saw Nick Tetz ride him in Ponoka, I knew it was really good bull and I had a really good opportunity to go win here,” he said.
Swearingen is tied for second in Pool A with Round 1 winner JC Mortensen heading into the third and final performance. Both cowboy have $7,000 and Cody Teel leads the way with $10,000. The Top 4 will advance to the Semifinals, which are held on the same days as the Short Round on July 16.
