In Timed Events, there are two rounds with the aggregate winner being crowned champion. Barrel Racing, like the Roughstock Events, is also a one header with the fastest time taking home the title.

What to Watch For

It’s becoming a two-horse race in the Tie-Down Roping with Shad Mayfield in the No. 1 spot and Ty Harris in the No. 2 spot. Mayfield is over $177,000 while Harris is around $5,000 behind him. Mayfield has a chance to extend is lead in the standings as he is currently the only one of the two scheduled to compete in Deadwood. Shad’s first performance comes in Slack and his second run will come on Thursday.

The 2023 World Champion and Rookie of the Year, Keenan Hayes is back in the No. 1 spot this year and has begun to separate himself from the pack. Hayes is scheduled to compete on Thursday where he will look to add to his $156,000 in season earnings, which currently has him $24,000 ahead of Rocker Steiner, who is in second place. Steiner will compete on Saturday as he looks to close ground on the No. 1 spot.

Emily Beisel has established herself atop the WPRA World Standings with $93,000 earned. She is looking to hold off Abby Phillips, Hailey Kinsel, and Leslie Smalygo who are all within $10,000 of her top spot.
