Defending Saddle Bronc Riding Champion Damian Brennan Talks RodeoHouston and More

Damian Brennan’s success started long before he picked up his first RodeoHouston win.

Damian Brennan is now a two-time National Finals Rodeo cowboy and in 2024, one of the biggest wins that helped get him there came early at RodeoHouston.

“It was incredible, you know, you always want to have a good winter that kind of starts your year out strong and RodeoHouston, you’ve been watching that rodeo since you were a kid and it’s just awesome to be able to compete there, let alone win against the top guys in the world,” Brennan said.

After Brennan graduated high school, he quickly realized that rugby and the city were not for him. From there, he moved north to a cattle station where he found an old bronc saddle. That was the start of it all before Greg Rhodes, the rodeo coach at West Texas College, called Brennan in 2018. Now, Brennan has two National Finals Rodeo qualifications under his belt after being No. 16 in the World for his Resistol Rookie year.

The fire is burning as Brennan has his sights set on a Gold Buckle after coming so close in 2024. He took the time after Las Vegas to reset with a trip home to Australia but with the Texas Swing well under way, he is back at it.
