Destination America: North Platte, Nebraska & Pleasant Grove, Utah

There are two rodeos that cowboys hit on the way to Reno, Nevada for the big kick off of summer. The Buffalo Bill Rodeo in North Platte, Nebraska and the Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

North Platte is where the first ever spectator rodeo was held. William F. Buffalo Bill Cody had the a July 4th rodeo with bronc riding and buffalo riding in 1882 and he brought a real western experience to the audience.

The Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove, Utah gets it’s name from the fruit being the main export from 1920-1950. The rodeo is the longest continuing rodeo in Utah and was established in 1921.

Both places host unforgettable rodeos with family friendly atmospheres.

We can’t forget about Reno Rodeo coming up later this week. The big kick off rodeo is just days away!
