Dr. Tandy Freeman Details the Impact of Justin Sports Medicine in the World of Rodeo

The Justin Sports Medicine Team was founded by Dr. J. Pat Evans and Don Andrews in 1980 as they brought to life the idea of bringing sports medicine to local rodeos due to the large number of injuries sustained throughout the sport.

Dr. Tandy Freeman now serves as the Justin Sports Medicine Medical Director, a position in which he was chosen for by Dr. Evans himself after the two formed a close friendship during Dr. Tandy’s time in medical training. As Dr. Evans was nearing retirement he was in search for someone to fill his role at Justin Sports Medicine and saw Dr. Tandy as a good fit.

Since the start of Dr. Tandy’s time with Justin Sports Medicine they have continued to grow as they increase the size of their team as well as expand on their knowledge within the medical field.

“It’s a privileged to be apart of the Justin Sports Medicine Team, I speak for all of the volunteer physicians and trainers that work with this program, we’re happy to be apart of this sport and the lifestyle it supports,” Tandy said

The Justin Sports Medicine Team is fully equip to handle the unique injuries and individual challenges that accompany the sport of rodeo as they continues to provide peace of mind to athletes year-round.
