Eli Lord knew he would have to be more aggressive on Wednesday afternoon to get a check and he delivered with a time of 4 seconds flat to win Day 2 of Pool B in the steer wrestling.
“It felt really good, yesterday I was at the end and there wasn’t a lot of times, so I was able to just go get a time and get a check. And today I was at the beginning and went at it a little more and it felt good that everything worked out,” he said.
During Tuesday’s performance, Lord was one of four cowboys with a clean run, meaning they all collected checks. Lord was third and along with Wednesday’s first-place finish, he is first in the pool with $8,000.
Stockton Graves, the Day 1 winner, and Jesse Brown are tied for second in Pool B with $7,000. Brown was third on Day 1 and split second with Jacob Edler and Blake Knowles on Day 2.
