Emily Beisel Shakes Up WPRA Barrel Racing Standings and Moves Her Way to the Top

After several solid runs at St. Paul, Reno, Calgary and the NFR Open, Beisel is alone atop the World

Emily Beisel has made her way to the top of the WPRA World Standings after several solid runs over the last couple of weeks.

Just a week ago, Beisel sat in the No. 3 spot with a little over $81,000 in earnings. After winning almost $13,000 this week, she is now at the top of the standings with over $93,000 in earnings listed beside her name.

Beisel has had two big victories recently, claiming the title of Champion Barrel Racer at both Reno and St. Paul. She also won a round at both the NFR Open and the Calgary Stampede earlier this week.

She credits a lot of her success to her talented equine athletes: Chongo, Liza, Pipe Wrench and the newest addition to her trailer, Chewy.

“I’ve been out here for several summers now, and the more you go the more you learn,” she said. “Having the same group of horses and addition to a horse that has a ton of experience as well, it’s just... it’s been a blast.”
