Erin Taormino Goes Down in History as First Woman to Win the World’s Greatest Horseman is

Erin Taormino kicks off Women’s Month in the best way.

Erin Taormino etched her name in history books as she accomplished a win that she has always wanted.

“I don’t know that it’s completely sunk in yet but it’s pretty unbelievable. It’s something that I’ve always dreamed of and thought that I wanted to do but wasn’t sure I’d achieve it this fast,” she said.

The horsepower is called Hazardouz Material but joining Taormino on this long journey is a long list of supporters.

“I feel like it’s been a bilding process but the people that I have in my corner that have supported me and helped me grow to this point, I’m pretty lucky,” Taormino said.

The World’s Greatest Horseman is unique in the fact that it is one horse, one rider and one bridle with a $150,000 pirze at the end for the winner.

Taormino’s mount, Hazardouz Material, is a horse that she calls Skeeter and they have been together for Skeeter’s entire show career.

“What I love about him is his mind and his try. This horse, we’ve been on a lot of big stages and any time I ask him, he’s never let me down... His mind and his ability is second to none,” she said.

It was a Saturday night at Will Rogers Colliseum in Fort Worth, Texas when Taormino made history, a moment that will not be forgotten.
