Cole Reiner was on the outside looking in at No. 16 before he went to Montana for the Darby Xtreme Bareback. It was there where he would cover two horses, one being a rematch, to be the No. 1 cowboy there and your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
In the Long Round, Reiner had a matchup with Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Queen Scarlet. The duo would put an 87.5-point ride that landed them fourth in the Third Section to sneak into the Short Round.
Reiner would draw a horse he was familiar with and one that success has already come his way on this season. Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Nightcrawler is the bronc that Reiner rode for 89 points in the Final Round of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo to tie for the Go-Round win and cash in on the big prize. That same horse would be the one he climbed on in the Short Round of Darby.
With eight seconds between him and another $12,500, Reiner went to work with Nightcrawler and when the dust settled, a season best score of 92 points found its way to the top of the leaderboard making Reiner your Darby Xtreme Broncs Champion.
During this 2024 season, the two times that Reiner has drawn Nightcrawler it has ended with huge success. The Darby win bumped the four-time National Finals Rodeo cowboy back into the Top 15 at No. 12 going into the Summer Run. Reiner is your Exmark Roughtstock Athlete of the Week.
