Two-time World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider Ryder Wright arrived in Coarsegold, California looking for a win and he did just that. Two bronc rides later and he has moved up in the standings and added another rodeo to his resume to be your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
Wright was out in the fourth of five sections before the Finals and his first matchup of the day was Flying U Rodeo’s Good Time Nic. As usual, he had an inside scoop on the horsepower as two of his brothers have covered this horse but it was Wright’s ride in California that tops the charts. The two danced for 91 points to be the highest score received on the Flying U bronc according to PRCA’s Stock Stats.
From there, momentum was picking up for Wright going into the Final Round where he drew Corey and Lange Rodeo’s Mojave Moon. The 87-point ride would be good enough for the win by just half a point over Lefty Holman.
The Veater Financial Bronc Match proved to be good to Wright adding $15,500 to his season earnings. He is not he No. 4 ranked saddle bronc rider in the PRCA World Standings. As the summer run gets closer, Wright has a foot on the gas going into the Redding Rodeo and the World Famous Mile City Bucking Horse Sale Matched Xtreme Bronc Ride. His success in California added to it as he is your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
