Gray was 88 points to win inaugural North Dakota Roughrider Cup

TJ Gray rode for 88 points at the North Dakota Roughrider Cup on Dakota Rodeo’s Time in a Bottle to win $17,879 causing the No. 1 ranking in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings has changed hands once again.

Gray, 23, is fully healthy and feeling better than he has in his PRCA career and it’s showing in his riding. He is covering 60 percent of his bulls since the beginning of August and has risen from No. 6 in the World Standings to the top spot.

For the season, Gray is riding 48 percent of his bulls.

“I’m just having more than ever,” he said. “Just getting to get on a hot streak and go is awesome.”

Gray has made $230,510 this season after entering the year with $93,000 in career earnings which came from his 22nd place finish in his rookie season last year.

Stetson Wright lead the PRCA World Standings entering the 2023 NFR with $368,630 while World Champion Ky Hamilton banked $254,165 in the 2023 regular season.
