Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week: TJ Gray Doubles Down with Career Best and Big Wins

Oregon’s TJ Gray is in the midst of the best season of his young career with Las Vegas coming into his sights. Gray’s career highs continued in Cheyenne and Salt Lake when he made the highest marked ride of his career to win the iconic rodeo while also claiming the Gold Medal to become your Exmark Athlete of the Week.

Starting in Salt Lake at the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, Gray matched up with Championship Pro Rodeo’s Yela Wolf to be the only qualified ride of the performance. The 87.5-point ride secured his spot in the Gold Medal Round. It was there that he climbed on Andrews Rodeo’s Shockazooloo. Of the two qualified rides in the Final Round, Gray’s 85.5 topped the leaderboard and he took his place on the podium for Gold.

Later, in the Third Performance at the Daddy of ‘ Em All Gray was 82-points to squeeze into the No. 4 spot and advance to the Semifinals. Although it was a no score in the Semifinals, his Progressive Round score was enough to the put him in the Finals. On Championship Sunday, Gray drew Dakota Rodeo’s No Dose. Eight seconds of grit and Gray made the highest marked ride of his career when a 90 went to the top.

Gray’s success in Utah and Wyoming added $28,000 to his season earnings and he is now the No. 7 ranked bull rider in the PRCA World Standings. With just two months left in the regular season, Gray has the Thomas and Mack in his sights for this first time. He is your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
