Wacey Schalla has a lead foot down going into the final few weeks of the season. The Oklahoma cowboy is cashing in at every rodeo he goes to and it was no different last week in either event to make him your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
It all got started in Larimer County when it comes to Schalla’s success in the bareback riding this past week. Although the 79-point ride on Beutler and Son Rodeo’s Pebbles is not his best of the season, it was good enough for a fourth-place finish at the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo and it only got better from there.
Schalla’s bareback matchup in his home state at the Lawton Rangers Rodeo was another Beutler and Son animal athlete that goes by Happy Hour. It would be an 89-point ride that would top the leaderboard to be worth almost $4,000.
In the bull riding at Lawton, Schalla drew Beutler and Son Rodeo’s Hysteria who he rode for 89 points. This ride was worth another $7,800 and his weekend did not stop there. He swung up to New Jersey and nodded his head on Rafter G Rodeo’s Big Tasty for yet another 89-point ride. This past week in the bull riding, Schalla added over $35,000 to his name when you add in his success at Lea County.
Schalla is inside the Top 10 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings with sights set on Las Vegas. He is ranked No. 28 in the bareback riding but he continues to lead the Resistol Rookie All-Around and Bull Riding Race. After five titles of Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week, Schalla has earned his first Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
