Dec. 18 is now Roger Mooney Day in the State of Georgia.
Mooney has been an announcer at the Wrangler NFR four times, including in 2020.
The Georgia State Senate recognized Mooney with a proclamation that states: “Roger’s extensive career and rise to becoming one of the country’s most renowned rodeo commentators is truly a testament to his unwavering work ethic.”
The proclamation came from Sen. John Wilkinson, who knew Mooney from participating in FFA in Georgia in the 1980s.
