The No. 5 ranked bull dogger in the world is none other than four-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier, Will Lummus.
With $79,017 in earnings this year, Lummus is only $38,239 behind the No. 1 man, Jacob Talley ($117,256).
Lummus kicked off his season with a 4.0 second run to win the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo and earn a quick $4,443. He kept it in the 4.00 second range at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo in Rounds 3 and 4 to add $$3,224 to his earnings. He also went on to win the 146th Silver Spurs Rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida with a 3.2 to make his fastest run of the season that far.
WILL LUMMUS 3.5 OLD FORT DAYS RODEO
The American rolled around and Lummus made it to the Shootout Round where he was a 5.9 to finish fourth. Another run in the 4.0 second range came at the Florida Gateway Pro Rodeo to add another $1,038 to his earnings and he did it again in Oregon at the High Desert Stampede where a 4.7 pulled a fifth-place check.
WILL LUMMUS 4.0 RENO RODEO
At the San Angelo Cinch Chute-Out a broken barrier was still good enough to be second and bring in $3,000 and at Old Fort Days Rodeo, Lummus ran a 3.5 to win the rodeo. The first half of June brought in $4,659 for Lummus before he really kicked things up a notch over the summer run.
Lummus finished second at Reno Rodeo with a 4.0 second run to bring in $4,521 before running a 3.7 to be sixth at the Greeley Stampede. At the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo a 3.9 got Lummus a little more than $2,000 and a 3.5 at Sheridan WYO Rodeo brough in a little under $4,000.
WILL LUMMUS 4.3 PIKES PEAK OR BUST RODEO
Lummus won the first round of the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo (Colo.) with a 4.3 and followed it up with a win at the Mountain Valley Stampede (Utah). Lummus’ last hefty check came from Ellensburg Rodeo with a 3.3 in Round 2 and a 4.7 in the finals to bring in $2,620 to round out the rodeo.
Lummus is fighting for his first ever World Title after finishing 5th at last year’s NFR.
