From Watching on VHS to Winning a Round, Justin Smith Shines in First Calgary Appearance

Justin Smith sits in second place in Pool B after taking round two with a 6.9-second run. Smith had never been out of the country before this trip, and he is making the most of it.

“I have always wanted to come here, I have been watching this rodeo since the 80s and 90s. My grandma had VHS tapes and watching Fred Whitfield tie them fast up here, I have always wanted to come up here. It was a blessing to get the call.”

Smith earned $5,500 after his 6.9-second run and sits behind Dakota Eldridge with two more performances to go before the Calgary Semifinals.
