Behind the bucking chutes on Monday night, Katy Lucas got an inside look at No. 2 ranked bull rider’s strategy.
Clayton Sellars started the 2024 season healthy and hungry for a Word Title. Although going into a season completely healthy was new to him, he does not take the time away from rodeo for granted. Those times have given him a chance to refocus and consider what is most important in his life and career.
“I’m healthy, I’m riding good, I feel good, and I got good friends and family, and a full cup. You know we’re just feeling great,” he said.
Not only does he have an extremely busy schedule ahead of him, hitting rodeos in various states in just six weeks, but he and his wife Billie are getting geared up to welcome a baby boy in late August.
Sellars does not like to sit back and study the bulls that he will be riding, rather he tries to always do his best no matter the situation at hand.
His strategy prevailed victorious as he took the title of Performance 4 Champion with an 86.5-point ride on Big Bend Rodeo’s Maximum Velocity. This ride put him in a current tie for third with Tyler Bingham while they await the Short Round.
