The barrel race at the 2024 National Finals Rodeo has been one of the closest races we have seen in the last decade. After Kassie Mowry downed a barrel, Hailey Kinsel and her iconic mare, Sister, did not miss a beat in Round 9 to find their way back to the Winner’s Circle to setup a winner-take-all finish in Round 10.
“You know, I have the most amazing horse and she doesn’t owe me anything, she doesn’t owe me this race but she’s kept me in it and I’m thankful for that but overall I’ve got wonderful friends and family that motivate me,” Kinsel said.
The duo was last on the ground in Round 9 and still managed to come out in the No. 1 spot.
“Tonight, I just want to take it one day at a time. We’re here to win some money and make the most of this experience. You never know if you get another one so I just wanted to give an effort that I could be proud of at the end of the day and that’s going to be the goal tomorrow,” Kinsel said.
Kinsel and Kassie Mowry have gone tit for tat these past nine rounds and Round 10 will determine it all.
