Hailey Kinsel Talks New WPRA Record from Lawton

While currently sitting No. 3 in the WPRA World Standings, Hailey Kinsel has been on fire lately, looking as if she’s gunning for a third World title — and based on her recent performances, we think she and Sister have a pretty good shot.

Just last week while competing in Dodge City, the dynamic duo turned in the fastest time of the rodeo, as well as the fastest time on a standard pattern — ever. They set a new WPRA record with a time of 16.63 seconds.

The reigning World Champion Barrel Racer joined us on Western Sports Roundup to talk about her run and how it felt to set a new WPRA record, plans for the rest of the season, and traveling partner Emily Miller.

Immediately following her interview, Kinsel and Sister were up in Lawton, Oklahoma, where they again notched a time under 17 seconds and broke another record. With a round winning time of 16.90, the duo set a new arena record at the Lawton Rangers Rodeo. They currently are topping the leaderboard in front of Jessica Routier in second with a 16.98.
