Three-time Gold Buckle winner Hailey Kinsel’s great palomino mare, Sister, has a brother.
Kinsel welcomed home a colt by Sherry Cervi’s legendary stallion Dinero out of of a mare named Royal Sissy Irish. It’s the same breeding, top and bottom side, as Sister.
Kinsel rode Brother Hayday for the first time on Wednesday.
“I got to be the first human he met on God’s green earth and he grew up here, then went to live at my parents place. My mom spent a lot of time with him and did all the ground work and to be ready to go to Chase Hermes who started him and put an excellent handle on him,” Kinsel wrote on Facebook. “From there he went to our friend Ben Shofner’s for some light ranching over the summer. To get him back home with me and ride him today felt wonderful. Of course I’m excited about the future with him but for now I’m just enjoying the present.”
