The CFR bull riding is loaded with familiar faces, but the cowboy leading the way is just 24-years-old.

In just his second appearance, Coy Robbins has totaled $57,474 and leads by more than $10,000.

Right behind him, however, are those who have seen plenty at Canada’s most prestigious rodeo.

No. 2 is four-time qualifier Jacob Gardner, who started his CFR career with back-to-back CFR All-Around Titles in 2018 and 2019.

Fellow four-time qualifier, Mexican cowboy Edgar Durazo sits fifth and sandwiched between Gardner and Durazo at No. 2 and 3 are Jordan Hansen and Jared Parsonage, who have 17 CFRs and five NFR qualifications between them.

No. 1 Coy Robbins, $57,474

Robbins totaled nine wins in the 2023 CPRA season. Some of his most notable rides were an 89-pointer to win the Langley Valley West Stampede and 87 points in the SMS Equipment Pro Tour Finals to split the win with Jacob Gardner.

No. 2 Jacob Gardner, $47,257

Garnder turned pro in 2018 and has made the CFR every year since as 2023 marks his fourth appearance (the CFR was canceled in 2020). He notched four wins this year, all of which came in Alberta for the lone British Columbia native in the bull riding field.

No. 3 Jordan Hansen, $45,831

Hansen was the Canadian Champion in 2016 and in 2023, he notched wins in Grande Prairie, Lea Park, Regina and Armstong. Hansen also won two rodeos in Montana this year and made his third career NFR, finishing No. 11 in the PRCA World Standings with $144,223.

No. 4 Jared Parsonage, $39,807

The two-time reigning CPRA Champion got his marquee win in 2023 came at The Calgary Stampede where he went 5-for-5 and was the only bull rider to make the whistle in the Short Round. In addition to his CPRA earnings, he is also joining Hansen as one of two bull riders to qualify for both the CFR and NFR in 2023.

No. 5. Edgar Durazo, $36,147

The Mexican cowboy was the Strathmore Rodeo Champion with 89.5 points and the Oktoks Rodeo Champion with a 91. He won the CPRA Championship in 2019, the first year he qualified for the CFR, and has made it back to Red Deer for the next three since.

No. 6 Cauy Schmidt, $30,470

The rookie made his mark as he will enter his first CFR No. 6 in the world. The 20-year-old won three CPRA rodeos and was the PBR Canada Rookie of the Year.

No. 7 Dakota Buttar, $26,053

Buttar made five straight CFRs between 2012 and 2016, returned in 2021 and has been there ever since. Buttar also competed in PBR Canada in 2023 and finished the year strong there by placing in the season’s final four events.

No. 8 Wyatt Gleeson, $23,257

After turning pro in 2022 in his late 20s, Gleeson has made consecutive CFRs. In 2023, he won the High Prairie Rodeo and the Medicine Hat Tour Rodeo.

No. 9 Tyler Craig, $21,630

The 22-year-old is making his first CFR appearance after winning three CPRA rodeos in 2023.

No. 10 Brock Radford, $20,905

Radford is heading to his fifth CFR this year. The 28-year-old has also qualified twice for the PBR World Finals.

No. 11 Jett Lambert, $15,975

He just turned 19 in September making Lambert the youngest bull rider in this year’s CFR.

No. 12 Ashton Sahli, $13,1501

Despite it being his first CFR, Sahli will feel right at home in Red Deer. He is from Lacombe, Alberta, which is less than 20 miles away.
