Hunter Herrin is living life on the bubble, and for the first time in a while, he finds himself inside the Top 15 thanks to his third career win in Ellensburg.
He was 26.4 seconds on three and closed it out with an 8.8-second run in the Finals.
Herrin, who is up to nearly $89,000 in season earnings is less than $1,000 ahead of Marcos Costa in the No. 16 spot.
Herrin knew he didn’t have to be perfect in the Finals to cash a check, something he says he has learned throughout his long career.
“Been there and been through it before. When I was younger I was always the real fast one who skipped steps.”
Herrin, who is squarely on the bubble, has added pressure as we head towards the end of the season.
“You got to clear your mind and say you’ve done it millions of times in the practice pen and rodeos like this. This is the third time I’ve been able to win Ellensburg.”
Herrin is No. 15 in the Tie-Down Roping Standings and is looking to qualify for his 14th career NFR.
