Jeff Medders, who spent nearly five years at KJRH with legend Al Jerkens and worked for Tulsa based Winnercomm for thirteen years on thoroughbred racing and other western programming, will be inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum on Saturday, November 12th in Oklahoma City.
Since 1991, Medders has been the television host for PRCA ProRodeo and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has also offered his talents to “America’s Horse”, a magazine show on the American Quarter Horse for 15 years and has been the host and producer of the “Cinch High School Rodeo Tour” for the past decade.
While immersing himself within the cowboy industry, Medders founded and is President of Geronimo Productions, one of the most prolific television production companies within the western world. Geronimo has produced some of the top sports programs in the industry, such as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo for Great American Country and CBS Sports Network, Championship Bull Riding for Fox Sports and the Cinch High School Rodeo Tour for RFD-TV.
Medders is currently the President of The Cowboy Channel, a Fort Worth based television network dedicated solely to western sports.
An Oklahoma State University graduate, Medders was named an OSU College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Alumnus in 2014 and inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2016.
Medders will be the recipient of the Director’s Choice Award. This award is chosen by the Rodeo Historical Society Board in exceptional circumstances.
