World Champion bareback rider Jess Pope has claimed a second Go-Round win in Las Vegas. A trip on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Resistol’s Secrets Out was deemed 89.5 points to get him the Round 9 win by 3.5.
Pope now has three rides of 89.5 points or better while no one else in the field has more than one.
“I’ve just got to keep going one at a time. The stingers have kind of been a kick in the butt on this deal. It’s just something I’ve had to push through. Our sports medicine team has done a fabulous job, you know, they show up here at nine in the morning. You show up, they work on you. You’re here at 3:30, get worked on again, they’ll stay until midnight if they have to. They’ve been going above and beyond, not for just me but all the other cowboys. You know, a special thank you to them guys for dang sure,” Pope said.
Cole Reiner finished second while there was a three way split for third, fourth and fifth before we head into Round 10.
