Jessica Routier Cinches NFR Open Title in Colorado Springs

Jessica Routier turned in back-to-back 17.69-second runs within a mere hour’s gap at the NFR Open in Colorado Springs to cinch her well deserved championship title.

Routier and her palomino mare Missy made their way through the mud to bring in the fastest runs of both the Semifinals and Finals as the team collected over $24,500 in earnings.

With multiple second place checks earned in Colorado Springs throughout the cowgirl’s career, Routier was able to come out on top with not only the fastest run in the Final Round but a first place Average check to go along with it.

“She’s [Missy] such a blessing and just tries so hard all the time and I think that this rodeo in the mud, two runs in an hour really proves that. It’s a big win for us I’ve been really close a lot of times at this rodeo so I guess it just took some mud to finish it for us”, Routier said.

A win of this caliber is likely to catapult Routier into the Top 15 of the WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings.
