In the tie-down roping it was John Douch and Haven Meged that secured a spot in the Short Go after having the two fastest times in the Wildcard Round on Saturday afternoon. Douch stopped the clock at 7.4 while Meged’s hands were up just one hundredth of a second behind Douch.
“I feel pretty good. I knod of needed to do that all week but you know, it’s good to do it now and then later,” Douch said, with plans to build momentum off of that run going into Championship Sunday.
Meged has not had luck at the Calgary Stampede before, but he is heading into Championship Sunday looking forward to a good run with his family there to support him.
“It’s always nice when family is around to support you, it feels like home.” Meged said.
Douch and Meged joined the likes of Tuf Cooper, Cory Solomon and Ty Harris all gunning for a Calgary Stampede Championship during Sunday’s performance.
