Kade Bruno’s Calgary Stampede Title Comes After a Ride Off with One of the Best

Kade Bruno moves to No. 2 in the World after success at the Calgary Stampede.

After a ride off and then a mix up in the scores, Kade Bruno was deemed the Calgary Stampede Champion in an unusual fashion.

The Idaho cowboy’s Semifinals started with an 88-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Business Girl, a horse he knows well. It was followed up with a match up with Calgary Stampede’s Tokyo Bubbles that ended in 92 points. But it didn’t stop there as Zeke Thurston went 92 as well.

The ride off was next and Bruno would top the leaderboard with another 92-point ride, this time on Northcott and Yule Rodeo’s Mary Lou.

“That was pretty dang crazy. I don’t think I’ve ever been a part of a ride off like that and what a better guy to do it with it. Zeke’s been somebody I’ve looked up to for a long time and it’s a pretty special moment,” Bruno said.

The secret for success if you ask Bruno, isn’t even a secret. He is happy and healthy and i helped to have a strong horse that gives you a chance to win.

Bruno now sits No. 2 in the PRCA World Standings, trailing the No. 1 man, Damian Brennan, by just $15,000.
