Kelsie Domer has multiple World Titles to her name and she added the inaugural San Diego Rodeo to her long list of wins. After winning another Gold Buckle, she is loading up and heading out for the 2025 season with one of the first few stops including defending her title at Petco Park.
“It was a super cool rodeo, you know, being in a stadium like that is pretty special but great crowd. They were really into it and it was a cool event so I’m excited to go back,” Domer said.
The 2024 title came her way after a rope off against another standout breakaway roper that is also a friend, Taylor Munsell. Domer clocked a time of 2.4 seconds on the California baseball field.
“I mean, that’s kind of what you do it for. You know, we like that excitment, we like the pressure. It’s always fun to go against your friends too, because it’s competition but it’s friendly competition. We were rooting for each other other but it was exciting,” she said.
It is a situation where you can’t let off, Domer says staying aggressive and true to your game can pay off in a big way. The San Diego Rodeo is one that pays good and can set a pace for success that cowboys and cowgirls hope to keep up.
Domer is backing into the box on Little Man, her main mount, who has had well earned time off. His first one back will be at the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo before he heads west.
“We’re ready to go and I’m ready to kick the new year off,” she said.
