Kolby Wanchuk after his record-tying saddle bronc ride on Saturday

Kolby Wanchuk won checks on each of the first three days of the Calgary Stampede and impressed on Saturday afternoon by riding Urgent Delivery for 94.5 points to tie the arena record.

“Unreal, hasn’t really sunk it yet, that was awesome,” he said after his ride. “He had a little different trip than usual.....Just bucked hard, come around tight and is throwing head back, everything a guy could ask for.”

Through three days of action, Wanchuk is second in Pool A in the saddle bronc riding behind Sage Newman, who has placed first in two of the performances.
