Layton Green Wins Explosive Round 2 Bronc Riding at CFR With 91 Points

The 2017 Canadian Champion made the highest marked bronc ride of the rodeo so far

The TV pen of horses and the saddle bronc riders in Edmonton put together quite a show in Round 2 and none was better than Layton Green’s 91-pointer on Northcott and Yule’s Mary Lou.

The same horse carried Kade Bruno to a 92-point ride to win The Calgary Stampede earlier this year.

“That horse is awesome, that horse feels so good,” Green said. “She gives you every opportunity to win, those are the ones you want to get on every night.”

Half of the field got bucked off in Thursday night’s bronc riding, but those who did make the whistle put up some big scores.

Wyatt Casper was 90.50 for second and four cowboys total were marked 87.75 or better.

Green’s win moved him to third in the CPRA Standings and second in the CFR Average (174 points on two). Zeke Thurston leads the overall standings currently while Casper is in first in the Average with 178 on two.

Round 3 of the CFR begins with the Pre-Show at 8 PM ET Friday on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
