Lefty Holman and Dawson Hay are all Smiles After Moving on from the Wildcard Round in Calgary

Lefty Holman and Dawson Hay ended the Wildcard Round at the Calgary Stampede moving forward to Championship Sunday. Holman wad one of the first cowboys out and he set the bar with an 88.5-point ride when Hay followed up with a solid 88.

“I knew that horse was going to have a big rare out right out of there and I knew if I could get a good spur out on that horse it was going to be pretty special but the more special thing was getting to take the victory lap with my best friend, my best man, Dawson Hay,” Holman said.

Hay has been riding at the Calgary Stampede with an injury but watching his ride in the Wildcard you would have never known.

“It’s been tough but I mean, you’ve got to block that stuff out especially at a rodeo like this and I’m just happy to be here, I can’t thank God enough for letting me get on, keep going. It’s just been awesome out here,” Hay said.

Holman and Hay’s energy after moving on to the Short Go wads infectious and the in-laws are set to ride again on Sunday afternoon with hopes of one of them winning the Calgary Stampede Bronze.
