Lefty Holman earned over $200,000 for the third straight year and is heading to his fourth career NFR. Holman enters the NFR No. 7 in the PRCA World Standings and is a strong candidate for a World Title.

While he did not string together a ton of big wins, he made a big splash at many of the rodeos that matter most.

California Circuit Finals, $9,472

On the final weekend of 2023, Holman finished first in 2-of-3 rounds and second in another to win his Circuit Finals in style. His 251.5 points on three was 7.5 better than the second place cowboy Q McWhorter.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, $18,750

After making the Finals in Fort Worth, Holman continued to start his season off right at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. He made five straight rides of 84 points or better, including four of 87 or better.

In the Finals, Holman was 87 points on Exotic Warrior to take second and add $7,500 to his rodeo total.

RodeoHouston, $28,250

It was another strong showing at RodeoHouston for Holman as he made it to a third straight Texas Swing Short Round and added another second place finish. After making it out of his Super Series, an 87-point ride in Semifinal 2 left him outside the Championship Round by a half-point. He battled back through the Wild Card and answered the call in the Finals with 89 points, once again aboard Exotic Warrior.

Veater Financial Bronc Match, $12,366

Two rides of 85.5 and 86.5 points carried Holman to a second place finish at the marquee bronc riding in his home state. After his second place finish at the May 11 event, he was No. 2 in the World Standings and had already totaled more than $85,000.

Miles City Xtreme Broncs, $14,672

Holman got matched up with two NFR bucking horses at the Miles City Xtreme Bronc event in OLS Tubs Magic Carpet and J Bar J’s Straight Jacket. In the Long Round, Holman was 89 points on Magic Carpet which was good for second. In the Finals, Holman would again place second, this time after a 90-point ride on Straight Jacket.

Dawson Hay won both rounds with a 90.5-point ride in each.

Ogden Pioneer Days, $10,113

At the late July one-header, Holman rode Devil’s Advocate of Three Hills Rodeo for 87.5 points, matching the highest score on that horse in the 2024 regular season to get the win.

The same weekend, he also added nearly $7,000 for a second place finish at the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days, which was also in Utah.

Cinch Playoffs Puyallup, $14,394

Puyallup served as the exclamation point for the best regular season of the California cowboy’s career. His highest marked ride came in the Finals where he was 89 points on Exotic Warrior, the third time he drew that horse in a Short Round this season.
