Legacy Canadian Saddle Bronc Rider Logan Hay is Back in Edmonton for the Canadian Finals Rodeo

Logan Hay gears up for a fifth appearance at the Canadian Finals Rodeo.

Logan Hay is familiar with the Canadian Finals Rodeo but the iconic finals in the great white north has returned to Edmonton, Alberta. The rodeo is now taking place in the arena that is home to the Edmonton Oilers, a team that Hay is a fan of.

As for the Performance 1 draw, Hay drew Vold Rodeo’s Elvira. She is a powerful mare in the Elimination Pen that was a rematch for Hay but he says the main point is to get ahead of her and hold on.

Hay’s gameplan resulted in an 84.75-point ride that had him just out of the Round 1 money but the Performance win went to Zeke Thurston on a horse that Hay knew would test the reigning World Champion in the best way.

With the close of the regular season just days before the CFR kicked off, Hay’s stress level has come down just enough.

“This last month has just been real stressful, it’s just been a battle out there. Me, Ben [Andersen] and honestly Logan Cook and Ryder Sanford, we’ve just been battling it out and swapping spots the whole last month and everyone rides great and it just happen to work out for me and Ben this year,” Hay said.

The opportunity of two finals is what lays ahead of the oldest Hay brother has he heads into Performance 2 in Edmonton.
