Lisa Lockhart and Louie had the career of a lifetime together.
An Oakie With Cash, otherwise known as Louie, made 85 runs at the Wrangler National Finals with Lockhart and the Western Horseman has declared Louie as the No. 1 barrel horse of the decade.
Louie made his first trip down the alley of the Thomas and Mack in 2010 and he his last came in 2019. During that time, the duo won more than $803,000, two NFR Average titles, the American, Calgary Stampede and countless other rodeos.
“It is almost unfathomable to me the consistency and perfection that Louie exhibited in every run he made over the decade. He is amazing inside and outside of the arena,” Lockhart said.
Louie has been voted Horse with the Most Heart, he won the Guy Weadick Award at the Calgary Stampede, and he was in the top 3 for Purina Horse of the Year at the end of the PRCA season in 2019.
Louie has since been retired and spends his time at Lockart’s ranch in South Dakota while Lockart’s new mounts, Roas and Cutter have their time to shine. However, Lisa and Louie have gone down in history has one of the greatest barrel racing duos to ever run.
