Luke Thrash Opens National Western with High-Marked Bareback Ride

The young bareback rider made his mark on Denver early

Luke Thrash got things going at the National Western with an 84-point ride, good enough to take the opening performance. Thrash beat out Keenan Hayes’ 83-point ride in the opening round of Pool 1.

Thrash was familiar with his draw, Dark Rose, and took advantage.

“It felt outstanding. I had a buddy get on her and she was really good with him. I knew I had a good shot tonight.”

Thrash will be back tomorrow night for Performance 2 of Pool 1.
