It came down to the wire in the bull riding in Ellensburg with only one qualified ride in the Short Go. That qualified ride came courtesy of Maverick Smith on his reride on No. 808 of Flying 5 Rodeo.
“You’ve just got to stay calm even though your motor is running hot....Do the same thing you do every time,” he said.
Smith making the whistle in the Short Go made him the only bull rider with two qualified rides to his name in Ellensburg and he walked away the Champion.
“I had a lot of pressure on me to do good here and it felt real good,” he said.
Smith is now the No. 22 ranked bull rider in the World and there is still big money to be won this regular season.
