At age 32, Jeff Askey is on his way to his fourth NFR in the bull riding.

In 2020, he won five rodeos, including the ProRodeo Tour Finale and the Ram National Circuit Finals.

Those two events were two weeks apart in September and Askey was 3-for-4 at both. Five of those six qualified rides were marked 85 points or better and three were 87 or better.

Askey’s other wins all came in July. First, it was the Xtreme Bulls event in Weatherford with an 88-point ride on He Reigns. Next, it was it was the Ute Stampede in July with an 89.5-point ride aboard Countin Cards. And finally, Nebraska’s Big Rodeo with an 89.5-point ride on Roll Tide.

“Kind of bucky, real fast,” he said of his ride at the Ute Stampede, which broke the arena record. “I’ve been ProRodeoing 10 years and never broke an arena record....That’s pretty neat to me.”
