Straight Moonshine is one of J Bar J’s superstars. The horse hit the ProRodeo circuit in 2018 and is a consistent bareback horse.’
His biggest highlight of the 2021 season this far is going for 92.5 points with five time world champion Kaycee Field at the Yellowstone Riggin Rally in Darby, Montana. The horse has bucked one other time this year at the Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals in Kalispell, Montana. Tristan Hansen rode for 81 points.
In 2020 the horse bucked six times and his highest score of the year was 90 points with Jess Pope at the Pro Tour Finale. Cole Reiner drew Straight Moonshine twice last year getting a score of 87.5 at the 2020 Yellowstone Riggin Rally and 83.5 at the Wrangler National Finals. Three other cowboys got on the horse last year including Jessy Davis and Mike Solberg.
For the 2019 season Straight Moonshine was out just two times. Edward Brasfield went for 86.5 points at the Killdeer Mountain Roundup and Tristan Hansen rode at the Northeast Montana Fair & Rodeo for 85 points.
Straight Moonshine’s first year on the ProRodeo Circuit was in 2018 with one out in Stanford, Montana with Heath Ford.
During his whole career Straight Moonshine has a proven record of getting cowboys into the high 80’s on the leaderboard, making him a horse that cowboys are happy to see next to their name.
