Mike Solberg breaks down his winning ride in Odessa

Canadian bareback rider Mike Solberg is looking to qualify for the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo for the second time in his career and the first time since 2006 and he’s on the right track.

Last weekend, he split the win at the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo in Odessa with Will Lowe. On Thursday night, he notched a 79-point ride to advance to the Short Round of the Stockyards Shootout, which is Sunday afternoon.

Solberg joined Steve Kenyon to go through his winning ride on Beutler & Son’s Black Kat.

“That’s probably one of my favorite horses right now, she’s got one little hop at the start that makes you think she’s going to just nice and then she comes with the heat,” he said.
