Despite never being an FFA member, Patrick Gottsch was a staunch advocate for farmers, ranchers, and FFA youth, bringing events like the National FFA Convention into homes across rural America. National FFA CEO Scott Stump reflected on Gottsch’s impact, highlighting his dedication and innovative spirit.
Stump conveyed condolences to Gottsch’s family and the RFD-TV community, acknowledging the deep loss felt by viewers and colleagues. Over two decades, Gottsch’s efforts connected the FFA with broader audiences, making the organization’s events accessible to families and communities nationwide. His legacy includes the emotional use of Paul Harvey’s “God Made a Farmer” during FFA events, which moved many to tears.
Gottsch’s visionary ideas, such as featuring FFA in the Rose Parade, elevated the organization’s visibility. His passion drove initiatives like the “Give FFA Day,” which raised over a million dollars for the first time, marking a historic achievement for the foundation. Stump praised Gottsch’s enduring influence, which continues to inspire the FFA to expand its reach and support nearly a million members.
The Gottsch family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Patrick’s honor be made to the National FFA Foundation.
