New Restrictions Impact Summer Events Statewide in Wyoming

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon held a press conference today to address upcoming large events planned to be held throughout the summer across the state.

The government’s decision on state restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic means that Cheyenne Frontier Days will not happen for the first time in 124 years, and CFD President Tom Hirsig was also attendance to make a statement about the event’s cancellation.

But it isn’t just Cheyenne Frontier Days that is being affected. Six major rodeos held annually in the state of Wyoming will not take place this year. These include: Cheyenne, Thermopolis, Sheridan, Capser, Cody, and Laramie.
