Round 8 has come and gone and there were some major shakeups among the World Title races. Here is a look at your Round 8 News and Notes.

  • Stetson Wright’s season keeps getting better. Wright won both the Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding in performance 8. He took the Saddle Bronc Riding with a 90.5-point ride. Wright’s night was far from over as he would split the Bull Riding round with Ky Hamilton, giving him three Bull Riding wins through eight rounds. Wright is leading the average in Bull Riding, where he already sits at No. 1 in the PRCA World Standings and is currently second in the Saddle Bronc standings.
  • Tyler Waguespack and Will Lummus both go 3.6 seconds to split Round 8. Both Steer Wrestlers are in the thick of the World Title race with two rounds to go. Lummus is No. 2 in the world standings at $231,212 while Waguespack is third with $201,727.
  • Bull Rider Lukasey Morris remains out with a concussion. Morris was held out of Round 8 last night and will also miss tonight’s performance after suffering a concussion in Round 7. Morris, who has yet to make a qualified ride, will be reevaluated heading into Round 10.
  • Jordon Briggs is back to being the projected champion after Wenda Johnson knocked a barrel in Round 8. With Johnson knocking a barrel, Briggs moved up to fourth in the average, which would be good enough to win her second straight World Title.
  • Kaycee Feild has a strong matchup tonight as he drew Southland’s Shoutin’ Shoes of Sankey Pro Rodeo which led Cole Reiner to a Round 4 win.
