Riley Kittle leads the Resistol Rookie Race as the No. 1 header in the Team Roping. With goals that include a Rookie title, a National Finals Rodeo qualification and a successful year jackpotting, Kittle’s got his work cut out for him in a rookie class that will not make it easy.
One compenant of a rookie season is building a support system that is along for the ride and Kittle’s team includes some of the best.
“I have lots of friends that are rodeoing that I can call and talk to and give me advice like Clay Smith. He talked to me a little bit and I’m pretty good buds with Coleby Payne, I talk to him quite a bit and he gives me good advice so I’ve got a nice team,” Kittle said.
While we are well on our way through the Texas Swing, Kittle is making a partner switch from Will Woodfin to Landen Glenn before the California run gets started.
“I’ve seen Landon, we’re close in age. I believe he might be a year younger than me so I saw him at all the junior ropings and stuff coming up and he’s rodeoed the last two or three years. I’ve always thought he was a great young heeler and I’m excited to see what we can do together,” Kittle said.
Kittle is staying busy on the rodeo road. He is your No. 1 Team Roping Header by slim margins but the Texas cowboy is looking to add to it as his Rookie Year goes on.
