Hayes Weight has had the best regular season of his career in 2024 and it resulted in his second National Finals Rodeo qualification only this time, he is going into the Thomas and Mack as the No. 2 ranked bull rider in the World.

With $236,023 to his name, Weight made sure to stack himself up as a heavy hitter this year, and he finished on a high.

New Years Eve Buck and Ball, $9,201

The year 2024 kicked off with a bang for Weight when he swept the New Years Even Buck and Ball in Wyoming. An 85 on Muddy Creek Pro Rodeo’s Freak Show was enough to win the Long Round before a stellar 89 aboard Burch Rodeo’s Two Words was the best of the two qualified rides in the Finals.

San Angelo Cinch Chute Out, $12,500

During the midst of the Texas Swing, Weight cashed in in San Angelo on just the right day. He made the only qualified ride on one of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s greatest and multi-NFR bull, Time Bomb. The 90.5 would be one of Weight’s highest marked rides of the season.

Sisters Rodeo Xtreme Bull Riding, $4,733

The one-header in Oregon would be another notch in Weight’s belt. A matchup with Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Sea Smoke ended in an 87-point score on the board and Weight tied for the win with Hawk Whitt.

Summit County Fair and Rodeo, $6,286

Weight would hit a triple jackpot in August and the biggest of the three was in Utah. His 85.5-point ride on Diamond G Rodeo’s Magic Country Bubbles would be the best of the two qualified rides made at the entire rodeo.

Right before Summit County Fair and Rodeo, Weight succeeded in winning Mountain Valley Stampede with an 87 and Jerome County Fair and Rodeo with an 80-point ride. The combined earnings from those two rodeos totaled over $6,500.

Lewiston Roundup, $5,527

By huge margins, Weight picked up a win to get his September off just. His 88.5-point ride on Silver Clubs’ Kiss Me won him the rodeo by 7.5 points over the No. 1 ranked bull rider in the World TJ Gray.

Lion’s Dixie Roundup, $5,026

In the heat of the final month of the season, Weight did not let up. He picked up another Utah win by way of St. George when a ride on Legacy Pro Rodeo’s Fire and Ice proved to be worth 87 points. The win was his by three points.

Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup, $33,500

Weight wrapped his season up and put a bow on it with an exceptional performance in Sioux Falls. An 86.5 would win him the First Round and be enough on one head to advance him to the Semifinals. There, Weight’s 90 on Fettig Pro Rodeo’s Half Cocked would be the 3.5 points. In the Finals, his 86.5 would put him second for $22,000, the highest payday of his season.
