Oceane Veilleux’s Smooth Run Reaps Big Rewards at the Resistol Rookie Roundup

Canada’s Oceane Veilleux left Fort Worth as the Resistol Rookie Roundup Champion.

A down barrel in the Long Round was still fast enough for Oceane Veilluex to sneak into thee Top 8 and advance to the Shootout Round at the Resistol Rookie Roundup in Fort Worth. Smooth was fast and two runs later on Saturday night, she was your Champion.

“I am so proud of him to be honest. This run felt so smooth and we’ve had trouble with that first barrel. I could say we got there so I guess I can take the luck when we get it,” Veilleux said about her horse.

Veilleux clocked the fastest time of the rodeo at just the right time. The 13.19-second run was her second of the day and came in the Final 4. She has big goals this year as she continues to pursue a Resistol Rookie of the Year title and more.

Fellow Canadian Julie Plourde was your Reserve Champion with a 13.39 in the Final 4 having an impressive weekend as well.
