Paige Jonees may have been No. 15 in the WPRA World Standings in the regular season, but it was still stress-free (as far as NFR bubbles go) because she was more than $10,000 ahead of No. 16.
BIGGEST PAYDAYS
Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, $11,852
Several of the Okie cowgirl’s biggest moments in the 2023 season came in Wyoming, the biggest of which was in Casper. She was 17.18 seconds to take second in Round 1 before turning in a 17.05-second run to win the Finals and the Average.
Cody Stampede (Wyoming), $11,759
Jones only went to one rodeo over the Fourth of July and it was all she needed to keep pace in the WPRA World Standings. She was 17.20-second in her lone run to win the PRCA’s richest one-header.
FASTEST RUNS
RodeoHouston, 14.67 Seconds
Jones’ best performance of the Texas Swing came at the highest paying of them. She won two of the three rounds in Super Series 4, the faster coming in the Third Round. Jones won a total of $9,000 in Houston.
Cheyenne Frontier Days, 17.52 Seconds
It wouldn’t be a successful season in Wyoming without some stellar runs at The Daddy of ‘Em All. Jones’ time of 17.52 seconds won her the Second Performance. She was also 17.53 to take fifth in the Qualifier Round to even get into the performances.
NOTABLE WINS
Lewiston Roundup (Idaho), 17.03 Seconds
Jones got some breathing room in September and ensured her NFR berth in part due to winning almost $3,700 on Sept. 9.
