Parker County Rodeo Committee leaders talk about the legacy of the Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo and the role it plays in supporting those in need

After a 77 successful years, the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse is ready to host another exciting rodeo in Weatherford, Texas this coming weekend.

Each year a committee of 150 members, headed by Captain Larry Walden, work around the clock to host this distinguished event. Lasting a week with special experiences aside from the rodeo such as; a cattle drive, parade, and street dance, the gathering has something for everyone to enjoy.

“The reason we do the rodeo is to preserve our Western heritage,” Larry Walden said. “The money that we generate goes to Parker County, Texas, and charities right here in our neighborhood.”

The action began with an Xtreme Bulls on Tuesday while the rodeo will be live nightly at 9 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+ from June 5-8.
