PBR Central: Daylon Swearingen Wins In St. Louis

Nine days ago, Daylon Swearingen was carried out of the arena at the PBR in Oklahoma City when a bull stepped on his head. This past weekend, Swearingen won the PBR in St. Louis and is now the No. 2 man in the PBR World Standings.

It was a no score on Vanilla Ice and a buck off that put Swearingen right under the bull.

“That helmet, I think it is kind of designed to spread the impact out and I’m very thankful for it,” Swearingen said.

Although he was carried out, Swearingen ended up healthy and able to compete in St. Louis.

“I think my first bull, like nothing was in my mind like that, I was just a little bit more anxious than normal. I could feel my heart going,” Swearingen said.

That first bull was Hurts So Good and Swearingen covered him for 89.75 points in Round 1. He was a no score in Round 2 but came back in Round 3 to be 90 on WSM’s Jive Turkey and win the event.
