Ponoka Stampede: Thursday Matinee Daysheet, Performance 3

The Ponoka Stampede’s Performance 3 has heavy hitters backing into the box in the team roping and it is a loaded roster in the barrel racing as well.

BAREBACK RIDING

The No. 1 rookie in the Resistol Rookie Race is Weston Tmberman by $11,000 and he looks to extend his lead after a matchup with Dakota Rodeo’s Sleeping Giant.

STEER WRESTLING

A 5.5 is the fastest time of the rodeo and a 12.5 leads the aggregate. Scott Guenthner stays closer to his home turf rodeos these days but we can still expect big things from the four-time National Finals bull dogger.

TEAM ROPING

Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira, Derrick Begay and Colter Todd along with Erich Rogers and Paul Eaves will bring the heat but tie-down ropers Haven Meged and Brushton Minton are dipping into the All-Around as they back in the box.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Bo Vocu rode in the bull riding on Wednesday and today, he matches up with Unhinged in the bronc riding to be an all-around hand on the roughstock side of the arena.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Four of the world’s top tie-down ropers, Haven Meged, Logan Spady, Kyle Lucas and Brushton Minton, are out in Performance 3 although this is not their only event of the day, it is their No. 1.

BARREL RACING

Lindsay Sears made history for Canada when she broke the ice in her return to Vegas and she is back but 2023 Resistol Rookie of the Year, Kalli McCall, is looking to gain some traction in Canada.

BULL RIDING

California bull rider Jordan Spears has had success in Canada before and he is back. His last trip to the NFR came in 2019 but big wins over the Summer Run could send him back.
