An exciting Cowboy Christmas wrapped up and there was a small shuffle in the Bareback Riding World Standings and others hold strong to their place in the Top 15.

No. 1 Keenan Hayes, $126,395

Hayes’ Cowboy Christmas added a hefty amount to his season earnings. An 89-point ride on River Bugs at the Killdeer Mountain Roundup Rodeo was worth $6,000 to be his biggest payday that week but he has added a total of $21,000 to his name since the kickoff of the Summer Run.

No. 2 Leighton Berry, $114,765

Since his win in Pecos, Berry has placed at two more rodeos and secured his place in the Semifinals at the Calgary Stampede. An 81 at the Livingston Roundup was good enough for sixth while an 83 at the Killdeer Mountain Roundup Rodeo was enough for third and $3,600.

No. 3 Rocker Steiner, $109,039

Steiner’s Fourth Run was worth $13,800 as he cashed in in Montana, North Dakota and Utah. His best of Cowboy Christmas was an 85-point ride on Cervi Championship Rodeo’s Zipper Trick that was worth $4,700 in West Jordan, Utah.

No. 4 Cooper Cooke, $107,572

Cooke’s eyes are on Las Vegas, and he has remained inside the Top 5 for most of this season. Since his success in Reno, the Idaho bareback rider has found the pay window at the Cody Stampede and the Western Stampede to add another $$4,800 to his season earnings.

No. 5 Dean Thompson, $105,207

Thompson started his Summer Run with a bang. He cashed in on $8,000 at the Reno Rodeo, $1,100 at Rodeo of the Ozarks, $9,400 at the Greeley Stampede and $7,800 at the St. Paul Rodeo. His highest marked ride came in a pair of 88’s, one in Reno and one in Greeley.

No. 6 RC Landingham, $85,970

The four-time National Finals qualifier is looking to make it five. He picked up a huge win in Reno to the tune of $17,400 before adding $3,500 more after swinging to the Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo and World’s Oldest Rodeo.

No. 7 Garrett Shadbolt, $84,701

Shadbolt’s stops over the fourth consisted of three the resulted in paydays: the Black Hills Roundup, Mandan Rodeo Days and 89th Annual Independence Day Rodeo. Of the three, his 87.5-point ride on Big Apple at the 89th Annual Independence Day Rodeo was worth the most coming in at $5,400.

No. 8 Jacob Lees, $81,730

A $23,000 Cowboy Christmas would be in store for Lees and push him inside the Top 10. His biggest win came at the St. Paul Rodeo when he matched up with Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ Mustard for 88 points. This added $13,800 alone to his name.

No. 9 Tanner Aus, $80,851

A slow summer for the Minnesota bareback rider still has him in the Top 10. An 85 at the St. Paul Rodeo brought in $5,000 and before that, he placed at the Black Hills Roundup to add another $950 to his season earnings and that is enough to make the difference between a trip to Las Vegas or not come October 1.

No. 10 Taylor Broussard, $76,343

Broussard hit a hot streak over Cowboy Christmas and he added $6,200 to his season earnings. This includes his 86-point, second place finish at the Molalla Buckeroo Rodeo in Oregon that was worth $2,300.

No. 11 Cole Franks, $70,714

Franks cashed in almost $9,000 recently. An 85.5 at the Rodeo of the Ozarks was good enough to be third but the higher payday came in Arizona at the World’s Oldest Rodeo when he rode Cafe Risque for 85 points. It was a ride worth $6,700. Since then he split a round win at Calgary as well.

No. 12 Bradlee Miller, $70,402

The Texas young gun is hunting his first NFR qualification and a $15,000 Summer Run so far has him that much closer. A win at the Black Hills Roundup aboard Cajun Queen of Championship Pro Rodeo was worth $3,700 and he followed it up with another $2,000 when he finished fourth at the 89th Annual Independence Day Rodeo.

No. 13 Cole Reiner, $70,032

Two big wins in Utah over Cowboy Christmas added almost $10,000 to Reiner’s season earnings. At the 89th Annual Independence Day Rodeo, he matched up with Exactly Midnite of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo before heading to the Western Stampede where he would nod on the Cervi Brothers’ Jelly Bean. Reiner also picked up a Go-Round win at the Calgary Stampede to barely miss making it back to the Semifinals.

No. 14 Nick Pelke, $58,723

Pelke picked up a win at the Crystal Springs Rodeo thanks to an 86.5 point ride and the Fourth Run is what followed. He finished third at the Cody Stampede with an 86-point ride to bring in $5,6000 and a seventh-place finish at the Mandan Rodeo Days add to it.

No. 15 Waylon Bourgeois $57,402

The Louisiana bareback rider made his way to the pay window in St. Paul, Orgeon and Killdeer, North Dakota over Cowboy Christmas. It was worth around $4,000 and the higher marked ride of the two was an 84.5 aboard Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ Land of Fancy

No. 16 Bronc Marriott, $56,702

Marriott’s highlight from the Fourth of July was a wicked 91.5-point ride made at the iconic Cody Stampede. He set the bar on Night 1 and when it was all said and done, he added $9,900 to his season earnings.

No. 17 Sam Petersen, $55,910

An injury sidelined the Montana cowboy in April and he hit the ground running for the Summer Run. He placed in Reno to kick it off before he cashed in at the Black Hills Roundup and the Western Stampede. His biggest payday since his return was a hefty second-place finish at the St. Paul Rodeo thanks to an 86.5-point ride worth $10,000.

No. 18 Clayton Biglow, $54,655

Biglow’s last payday came in early June at the Livermore Rodeo when an 82-point ride put him fifth. The World Champion and eight-time NFR bareback rider has been sidelined for the rest of the 2024 season. He says it was a tough decision but he has to give his body time to really heal.

No. 19 Weston Timberman, $52,959

The No. 1 Rookie in the Resistol Rookie Race is hungry. His Cowboy Christmas was slow with only one pay day coming in but it was a decent one at the Livingston Roundup. An 85-point ride on War Drum was worth $5,000 and he carried that momentum into the NFR Open where he set the pace.

No. 20 Richmond Champion, $51,073

A $12,000 Cowboy Christmas is just what Champion was looking for. A win at the Livingston Roundup was worth $6,500 white he placed third at both the Western Stamepde and the Basin City Freedom Rodeo. At the Calgary Stampede he also picked up $8,000 within the first two rounds of his pool.
